Rainbow Cleaning System Guide: E2, SRX and Add-Ons

Best for
Buyers wanting a full attachment kit

The Rainbow Power Nozzle Canister Vacuum Cleaner System is sold as a complete cleaning kit. The listing describes a water filtration canister with metal wands, a reinforced hose, a crevice tool, an upholstery brush, a floor brush, extension wands and other specialized heads. For a room with a couch, a gaming chair and hard-to-reach corners behind a desk, that attachment spread is what you want.

Specs list a 2.5-quart capacity, 2 speeds, a 12-inch cleaning path and a noise level of 78 dB. There are clear inconsistencies, though. The brand field says Generic, the title says black and gold while the color field says blue, and the listing never names the Rainbow model. It also does not say whether the unit is new, renewed or refurbished. Ask the seller before buying if the exact model matters to you.

This option suits a buyer who values a full accessory set over a clearly identified model. If you want a known model with a restoration statement, the E2 and SRX listings below are more specific.

• Water filtration canister, 2.5 quarts
• Crevice tool, upholstery brush, floor brush
• Metal wands and reinforced hose
• 2 speeds, 12-inch cleaning path

Wet and dry cleanup on a budget

The Rainbow E2 Black Type 12 2 Speed Vacuum Canister System is an Amazon Renewed unit, described as professionally restored and tested. It has a 2-speed control for adjusting suction by surface and uses water filtration to capture dust and fine particles, according to the features.

The key difference from the other machines is its stated wet and dry capability, which the listing says handles liquid spills as well as dry debris. Knocked-over drinks near a gaming setup are exactly the kind of mess where that matters. Specs list 4 wheels, a corded power source and a maximum suction figure of 80 feet, which is an unusual unit for suction and is not explained.

The spec sheet lists the filter type as cloth, which conflicts with the water filtration described in the features and description. We would trust the description, but it is worth noting. The listing also does not state which accessories come with the unit, so the kit above is better if tools are a priority.

Genuine Rainbow basin fragrance

The Rainbow and RainMate Eucalyptus Fragrance is the only genuine Rainbow add-on in this list, with Rexair named as the manufacturer and model number 79-0131-04. Its title calls it an air freshener for Rainbow and RainMate, and it comes as a pack.

That is nearly all the listing says. It gives package dimensions of 9 x 6 x 2 inches and a weight of 10.3 ounces but does not specify how many bottles are in the pack or how much to use. With water-filtration vacuums, fragrances are generally added to the water in the basin so the scent is released as air passes through.

Pick this if you want a first-party product for your Rainbow and like eucalyptus. If you prefer lemon or want a larger bottle, the two third-party concentrates below are alternatives.

Finer speed control on mixed floors

The RAINBOW SRX Refurbished 4-Speed Canister Vacuum is described as professionally inspected and restored. It uses water filtration and offers four adjustable speed settings for carpets, hard floors, upholstery and other surfaces. The surface list includes stair steps, tile, hardwood and rugs.

The spec sheet adds details and a few contradictions. It lists 4 power levels but 2 speeds, and a filter type of HEPA and water, while the features only describe water filtration. Capacity is given as 4 pounds, and it runs on 120 volts. The listing mentions compatible accessories but does not specify which ones are included.

The SRX suits readers who want finer control across different surfaces, such as a low rug under the desk and a hardwood hallway. The E2 listing is the one to choose if wet pickup is essential, since the SRX listing does not mention it. To keep hard floors spotless between vacuum runs, our guide to a self-cleaning vacuum mop covers a different approach.

• Four power levels
• Water filtration, with HEPA listed in specs
• Carpet, hard floor, stairs and upholstery
• Corded, 120 volts

Lemon scent with biodegradable formula

The Odor Eliminator Air Freshener & Deodorizer Concentrate is made by Kleenovate, not Rainbow. Its title says it is compatible with Rainbow and other water-based vacuums, that it uses a biodegradable formula, and that it can be used for spraying as well as in vacuum basins. The bottle holds 12 fl oz, in a lemon scent.

The listing includes no description or feature bullets, only package dimensions of 5.55 x 2.64 x 2.6 inches and a weight of 14.07 ounces. The dilution ratio and ingredients are not specified, so follow the label once it arrives.

This suits someone who wants a lemon scent and values the biodegradable claim. If you want more product per bottle, the Fragrances Limited concentrate is larger.

The Rainbow, RainMate Compatible Deodorizer Concentrate is made by Fragrances Limited, not Rainbow. It is a 16 fl oz bottle in Lemon Fresh, the largest in this group, and the description says it is designed for water-filtration vacuums including Rainbow and RainMate.

The description explains use: add a small amount to the vacuum basin during cleaning to neutralize odors and add fragrance. It suggests everyday cleaning, pet areas, seasonal refreshes and getting the house ready for guests, such as before a watch party. It does not list ingredients or a biodegradable claim.

Choose this for the most concentrate per bottle. If you prefer a genuine Rainbow product, the eucalyptus fragrance above is the first-party option.
